Principal Disability Adviser, Ministry of Social Development

Anne Hawker has worked in the disability for 40 years at a regional, national and international level. She is the Principal Disability Adviser at the Ministry of Social Development for the last 15 years. During that time she has led the projects around increasing the employment in public service and creating an accessible public service. Employment has always been a key focus of Anne’s work including establishing the first skills training course for disabled people around employment.

Anne was the first woman World President of Rehabilitation International which enabled her to have civil society voice at the UN.
